Story times

The Tualatin Public Library offers a number of different story times during the school year. Parents are encouraged to join in as we celebrate reading and books. There are no story times scheduled during the summer.
By attending story times together, you and your child will learn about the six early literacy skills: print motivation, print awareness, narrative skills, phonological awareness, letter knowledge, and vocabulary.
Reading aloud to babies, toddlers and preschoolers develops language skills and increases vocabulary, enhances critical thinking and creativity, nurtures emotional growth and self-confidence, creates independent learners and problem solvers, and most importantly, cultivates an enthusiasm for reading.
June through August the library offers the summer reading program. During these months, we offer family events Tuesday evenings on the Commons. For more information about upcoming library events, or any of our library programs, please click here, or call 503.691.3074.
