Welcome to Jurgens Park
Jurgens Park, a 12.15 acre active park located at 17255 SW Jurgens Avenue in Tualatin, opened to the public in 2000.
Where did the name Jurgens Park originate? A historical theme has been used in naming Atfalati, Ibach and Brown's Ferry Park to create awareness of the heritage of the Tualatin area. Jurgens Park followed this important historical theme. In the 1860's William and Rosa Jurgens operated a potato farm on a portion of the park land parcels. These parcels were subsequently designated as a Century Farm by the Oregon Historical Society. In the 1930's and 1940's John Jurgens operated one of six other Tualatin River Parks just downstream from the current park site. The actual Jurgens River Park was located near the present Tualatin Country Club.
Jurgens Park today is an oasis of neighborhood activity and team sports, offering a unique farm-themed playground, sand play, picnic areas, ball fields, open grass play areas, wetlands restoration area, walking trails, tennis and basketball courts.
