Building Division
Welcome to Tualatin's Building Division. We are located in the City Offices building at 18876 SW Martinazzi Ave.
The Permit Counter is open from 8am-12 noon and 1pm-4pm Monday-Friday. No residential or commercial/industrial submittals or permit issuance for the Building Division will be accepted after 4pm. This is to facilitate daily permit processing and administrative tasks. Other activities, appointments, and meetings within the Division will continue until 5pm.
Pre-application meetings with a Building Division Plans Reviewer are required for ALL Commercial/Industrial tenant improvement projects. These can be scheduled by calling the Permit Tech at (503) 691-3044. If you would like to make an appointment to discuss new or ongoing projects with Building Division staff, you may call the Permit Tech and she will direct you to the appropriate team member.
The Building Division of the Engineering & Building Department is responsible for reviewing building plans and issuing building permits for all structural, mechanical and plumbing applications. Electrical permiting is contracted to Washington County.
The division monitors all residential, commercial and industrial construction in the city. The division operates a building inspection program per the guidelines contained in the Oregon Administrative Rules and per the approval of the State Building Codes Division (BCD). The City of Tualatin Building Division administers the provisions of the specialty building codes adopted by the state and follows a BCD-approved operating plan.
