Support Services

The Police Support Services Division provides services that support the Patrol functions of the Police Department.
Support Services consists of four units; the Community Response Unit, Detective Unit, School Resource Unit and the Police Services Unit.
The Community Response Unit is responsible for specific community issues and concerns that may include criminal activity, public presentations and/or other special events.
The Detective Unit is responsible for follow-up investigations for specifically assigned cases. These cases are usually serious incidents such as, but not limited to, homicides, death investigations, robberies, serious sexual assaults, serious physical assaults, child abuse cases and other felony cases that demand a unique investigative knowledge, time and may require travel outside the local area.
The School Resource Unit is charged with providing liaison and services to community schools and is the primary outlet of the Department's prevention/education effort.
The Police Services Unit maintains all reports and records and is also responsible for the receiving, processing and storage of all evidence as well as the maintenance of the department web page.
The Support Services Division is also responsible for the release of public information, training and recruitment/hiring functions of the Police Department.
