The Legal Services Department provides legal advice and representation to the City of Tualatin and Tualatin Development Commission in the areas of general municipal law, land use, public contracting, labor and employment, real estate transactions, and municipal finance. The Legal Services Department advises:
- Mayor and City Council
- City Manager and Staff
- City Committees, Boards, and Planning Commission
The Legal Services Department is responsible for:
- Drafting ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other legal documents
- Codifying the Municipal and Development Codes
- Representing the City and Development Commission in court, administrative appeals, and land use appeals
- Negotiating agreements with public and private entities
- Advising the Municipal Court
