Fitness Punch Pass
Participate in a variety of group exercise classes by purchasing a fitness punch pass. The punch pass allows you the flexibility to attend the classes that best suit your schedule. Punch your card before each class you attend so you always know how many workouts you have left. When you've used all the classes on your card please turn it in and purchase another card. The fitness punch pass is available in 5, 10, or 20 visit denominations and can only be purchased at the Center. Classes eligible for the fitness punch pass use have a * next to their title below. Fitness Punch Pass Options: 5 Visit $20, 10 Visit $36, 20 Visit $65. 

The Pohl Center currently offers SilverSneakers® and Silver&Fit® classes. These programs are designed specifically to help older adults achieve better health through regular exercise and health education. The SilverSneakers and Silver&Fit programs provide eligible members with no-cost or low-cost older adult-oriented group fitness classes through arrangements with certain health plans. The SilverSneakers program is provided by Tivity Health Fitness and provides eligible members up to 8 visits per month. The Silver&Fit program is provided by American Specialty Health Fitness, Inc, a subsidiary of American Specialty Health Incorporated, and provides eligible members up to 12 visits per month. Renew Active™, the gold standard in Medicare fitness programs for body and mind, is now at the Juanita Pohl Center. The program is available at no additional cost with UnitedHealthcare® Medicare plans and provides eligible members up to 8 visits per month.

This workout includes fall prevention drills and exercises to improve strength and endurance. A chair, handheld weights, and tubing is provided.

Silver&Fit Signature Series: Excel*
Ages 55 & Better
Test your endurance with some of your favorite workout moves. This class is designed to increase flexibility, joint stability, dynamic balance, muscular and cardiovascular strength.

Gentle Yoga
Ages 55 & Better
This class focuses on finding more ease in movement through practices including breathing, postures (asanas), concentration and much more. The pacing of each session is designed to optimize movement awareness thereby bringing greater calm to the mind and body. Come for strength, mobility and balance, leave with a sense of more ease in daily life. (This offering includes floor work as well as standing postures).

24 Form Refinement & Recital Class

Students who have completed the instruction of either the Yang 24 or the Sun 24 are welcome to take this class. We will work on refining the movements, as well as on presenting them in interesting ways for our recital at the end of the term.

Beginning Yang Tai Chi

Yang-style tai chi is the most popular worldwide. Learn the foundational movements of this style in an 8-movement set. You will experience the calming, healing power of tai chi and the joy of this lovely art form. We look forward to having you. Previous Tai Chi experience not required.

Morning Tai Chi & Qigong
Ages 55 & Better
Come experience the benefits of tai chi and qigong. These lovely art forms use slow, circular movements to support overall health. You may see improvements in flexibility, balance, strength, focus, and well-being. In this session, you will learn a qigong set as well as the 8 form Tai Chi Set. Come. Experience the ancient exercises that link body, mind, and spirit to optimize your health. Find out why they are endorsed by Harvard Medical School, the Mayo Clinic, and so many more. Learn why tai chi has been called both "medication and meditation in motion." And, most importantly, come enjoy the movement! Previous Tai Chi experience not required.

Introduction to Nordic Walking
Nordic walking burns more calories than regular walking, and is associated with reductions in fat mass, "bad" LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and waist circumference, and increases in "good" HDL cholesterol, endurance, muscle strength and flexibility, walking distance, cardiovascular fitness, and quality of life. Join us for a FREE introduction to this enjoyable combination of cardio and strength exercise! No equipment or prior experience necessary.

All Ages Welcome
Do you feel like dancing, smiling and meeting fun people? Please join us at Zumba®! Zumba® is an effective combination of aerobic exercise and resistance. It provides calorie burn, improves coordination and posture, helps de-stress, tones the body and improves endurance and cardio. Ages 21 & Up
Yoga for Veterans is a class where all veterans can come together to support each other and learn gentle stretches to help ease suffering from combat and post traumatic stress. Students will be guided to move and breathe to bring healing to the whole warrior. This program is for Veterans, their support folks, Vets' family members (spouses, widow/widowers, children, parents) and friends.
