Basalt Creek Stormwater Plan

What is happening?

Several years ago, Metro (Portland’s metropolitan area regional government) added Basalt Creek to the urban growth boundary for residential and manufacturing uses. When this area develops it will be annexed into either Tualatin or Wilsonville. Over the past five years, we have been working to put together a new and comprehensive Stormwater Master Plan. This Master Plan is intended to provide an overview of the system improvements needed to address things like city growth and development, maintenance and system condition issues, water quality retrofits and improvement opportunities, and more.  The Basalt Creek Stormwater Plan will be an addendum to the Stormwater Master Plan.

Where is Basalt Creek?

The Basalt Creek Planning Area is located between Tualatin’s southern boundary and northern Wilsonville. Tualatin’s Planning Area encompasses approximately 367 acres just west of I-5.

How will this affect me?

There are a variety of steps needed in order to establish the stormwater plan for Basalt Creek. This will include collection of data, modeling, planning and engineering.  Along the way you may see evidence of these stages and be asked to contribute information and/or feedback.  We will keep you informed of upcoming stages as this project progresses.  Be sure to check your mailbox for new information, or check online for further updates.
